Become A Mentor - SHRM

Ever wish you had a more experienced HR professional to turn to when you were starting your career? Well, please consider making that wish come true for a new SHRM member by giving the most valuable gift, your knowledge and advice, and become a mentor. The commitment is minimal, one to three hours a month, and you have the ability to choose whom you agree to mentor. You can also earn recertification credits for each six-month term you volunteer.

SHRM’s Mentor Program matches experienced HR professionals with mentees who need guidance, advice, and an impartial ear. A good mentor can be the key to unlocking a career, fostering an idea, or simply serving as a sounding board.
Please visit the SHRM Mentor web site to sign up as a mentor or find out more information. If you aren't already logged in to SHRM's web site, you will need your Member ID, which you can find on your membership card or by clicking here. For information about signing up as a mentee, look for an announcement in a future edition of HR Week.
