South Florida - Highest Inflation Rate in the U.S.

In 2007, the nation had the highest inflation rate in 17 years. And there's more bad news: South Florida suffered through a more rapid increase in consumer prices than any other metropolitan area.

Extreme price pressures reported by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday are becoming routine for South Florida consumers, who are paying far more for housing and gas than the rest of the nation.
